Weight Loss
This is a short extract from the book Weight Loss and Food Intolerance
If you look at people, you will see that some are seriously obese, some are just overweight and others are thin. Whatever is happening is not happening to everyone – at least not at the same time – but something is happening.
More and more people, of all ages, are getting heavier and larger. And the amount of excess weight being carried by some individuals is extreme. Why are the numbers of overweight people increasing? Why are some people getting fat and not others?
I am certain that no one wants to be overweight. Yet the struggle to maintain a more ‘normal’ weight is lost each day and, no matter what people try do, nothing works. This endless process of trying and failing takes its toll in horrible ways leading to physical and mental health problems.
One of the biggest problems we face is dealing with the advice we are given by experts and governments. One year we are told to avoid certain foods, then another year we are told to keep them in our diet and to avoid something else. We are always told we are to blame for our weight and health. And, yes, we are but how do we know what to do? We follow the advice the experts give us and it doesn’t work. We follow the meal plans, we calorie count, exercise, we lose weight and then we get fat again.
In one case, contact with water led to severe itching and wheals within five minutes. The severity of the symptoms was not affected by water temperature or type of water. [3]
One study reports on aquagenic urticaria occurring over 3 generations in one family. A young man and his mother were found to develop itching hives 5 to 10 minutes after contact with water of any temperature. Their symptoms did not respond to antihistamines or UV-radiation therapy. Four other members of the family also developed wheals from water contact. [5]
Well, you can’t be doing it right we are told by the experts – try harder and don’t cheat. The result? Sooner or later, we stop trying to do what they say and give in.
They don’t understand that we have tried, genuinely tried, and probably on many occasions and it hasn’t worked. Why? Because we have so been so hungry, so demoralised, that time and time again we have given in and eaten something not allowed. We’ve picked ourselves back up from our disappointment and tried again and eventually we have stopped trying. After all, why should we have to suffer eating small portions or things we don’t really like when others are tucking into all those wonderful foods and in super-size amounts?
The increasing numbers of obese people is a crisis that crosses age, gender, and ethnicity. It is something that can adversely impact any individual wherever they live in the world.
Even when we stick with a diet we eventually run into a problem – the diet is only ever a short term solution but we will need to eat food for the rest of our lives. Diets that lead to short term weight loss are like pouring a jug of water into the ocean – pointless. We need to look at what is happening – at the root cause of this pandemic that is silently but steadily killing people.
I am certain that the reason some people gain a large amount of weight and can’t lose it is because they are intolerant of the Processed Food Diet.
